| May 9: Today I woke up, took a sketching walk, ate, and then got to work on a painting of a desert peach bush with Mono Lake in the background. The wind was so strong -- whipping sand, dust and even some tiny pebbles by at 30-50 mph -- that I had to work inside, running out to the actual scene every 10 or 15 minutes to check on details. | |||||||||
